The first time you use Picture It!, after you complete the tutorial, you will receive a task to connect your health tracker (Fitbit App or Jawbone Up App. Note that while the use of peripheral devices are encouraged, they are not required - you can utilize the vast majority of features using only your mobile device).
If you have a Fitbit or Jawbone account already, tap Sign In and enter your email and password.
If you do not yet have an account, choose Sign Up to download the Fitbit or Jawbone app and follow the on-screen instructions to setup your account. If you do have a peripheral such as a wristband, the app will provide instructions on setting this up. Once you are done, tap Sign In and enter the email and password you used to sign up. If you decide to change tracking apps, you can do so via the Settings page (tap Profile, then Settings, then scroll down to Tracking Apps and Devices and tap Change).
Launch the Fitbit app from your home screen, or by tapping on a logging task in your Picture It! dashboard (when you reach the summary screen for a task, there will be a button you can use to launch Fitbit).
On the Fitbit dashboard, you will see buttons for Tracking Exercise, Weight, and Food. Once you have logged your information, it should appear in Picture It! within a few minutes in most cases. If the data (such as steps) is not appearing in Picture It! please refer to the Syncing data between Picture It! and your selected tracker app section.
Fitbit peripheral devices are a convenient way of tracking your physical activity. You will see your device displayed right on your dashboard, usually with a manual sync button. We recommend checking to see that data from your peripheral device is present in the Fitbit app before checking to see if it’s in Picture It! If the data (such as steps) is not appearing in Picture It! please refer to the Syncing data between Picture It! and your selected tracker app section.
If you have an iPhone 6 or newer, you will be able to easily utilize your phone as a physical activity tracker. You can configure it when you first create your account, but if you want to configure your iPhone as a health tracker after creating your account, within the Fitbit App, go to Account and tap on Set Up a Device and follow the onscreen instructions.
If your data is not appearing in Picture It! please refer to the Syncing data between Picture It! and your selected tracker app section below.
Generally, physical activity, weight, and food data that is logged in Fitbit or Jawbone should appear in Picture It! within a few minutes. However, due to the complexity of the manner in which this data is delivered, issues can sometimes occur. To troubleshoot the problem, we recommend the following:
Try pressing the “Wait, Where’s My Data” link at the bottom of the Picture It! dashboard. This will initialize a server call between Picture It! and your health tracker.
Log out and log back into both apps. Often, logging out and logging back into your Picture It! account and your Fitbit/Jawbone account is sometimes enough to get missing data to appear in Picture It!
Try quitting and relaunching both apps. On iOS, this can be done by double pressing the home button, then swiping the apps away. On Android, you will have to go to Settings -> Application Manager (or Apps), tapping on the Apps and then tapping Force Quit. You will get a warning that this may cause errors, but you can disregard this.
Ensure you are logged into the correct Fitbit / Jawbone account. If you have ever created more than one account, double check to ensure your are logged into the same account in both Picture It! and the Fitbit / Jawbone app.
Checking the web version of Fitbit. Access https://www.fitbit.com/login and enter your email and password. If see different data in the web version, it means that there is an issue syncing the data from your mobile device to Fitbit’s servers. In that case, try rebooting your device, logging out and logging in, or entering new data (such as a snack, or a weight measurement) to try and prompt a data-sync. If you see the same data on your mobile device and the web version, please contact our support team (and be sure to mention that you checked Fitbit.com and saw your data appearing correctly there - this is important information for our support team to have).
